In her newest photo art calendar for 2026, 'Cemetery Meditations,' Zeena takes you on a monthly visit to monuments to the dead where she's spent countless meditations and suggests: “The next time you pass by a cemetery, consider stepping inside, turning your phone off, and taking a break from a hectic day—but do so with full awareness, reverence and gratitude for this relatively short life you have. You might find that among the headstones and silence, something eternal beyond the transitory material realm exists.”

All photos in the calendar were taken at cemeteries in Berlin Germany, and Vienna, Austria, by Zeena Schreck.

-The Sacred Silence of Cemeteries-

"Cemeteries hold quiet yet profound spiritual resonance across cultures and belief systems. Far from being merely resting grounds for the dead, they have always served as sanctuaries for meditation and connection with unseen mysteries. To meditate among the graves is one way to confront impermanence directly. The stillness invites introspection, and the presence of mortality can sharpen awareness and appreciation of life. For many, the veil between worlds feels thinner here, allowing for deeper communion with ancestors, spirit guides, and divine forces. Considering the collective grief, sadness, and sufferings of centuries of dead beings and their survivors is also an opportunity to generate bodhicitta (compassion and loving-kindness). Such necropolises are considered appropriate retreat locations among certain Buddhist and Hindu practitioners.
"But regardless of your spiritual tradition, or lack thereof, just the beauty and organic connection to the earth and plants in cemeteries alone invites us to slow down, listen, reflect, and remember our priorities, before this fleeting existence is gone. They offer a rare stillness, often in the midst of a noisy world—a place where the mind can be open and the heart can speak freely. Whether you're seeking ancestral wisdom, connection to lost loved ones, or contemplating the nature of reality, meditating on impermanence, gaining clarity of mind, or simply want a moment of peace away from the pressures of living, the cemetery can be a sacred ally.

New Category in Featured Products!

We begin this new category in Featured Products with three items especially well suited for the Halloween season from Zeena's archives on Kenneth Anger (described below). Each item tells a story!

But first, a bit about this new category...

–ONE-OF-A-KIND COLLECTIBLES: Featuring Vintage Collector's Items from Zeena's Archives–
In the never-ending Buddhist process of letting go, the time has come for Zeena to let go of many archival objects, documents, photos, autographs and letters, curios and keepsakes, and other ephemera and memorabilia that reflect the development of her eclectic, magical life, from her distant, notorious, controversial past to her current life of spiritual serenity.
The collectibles in this new section will span six decades of memories from Zeena's personal collection, which have survived transport around the world through her various places of residence, from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Vienna, and finally to Berlin.
While she could sell these on auction, at much higher prices, she prefers to offer these rare pieces of history directly from her website to those who would enjoy giving them new homes.

Below are the first three offerings. More will be added regularly.

Collectible 1970s Halloween Greeting to Zeena from her Godfather Kenneth Anger

PictureClick photo for more detailed description with more images.
Association Item: Connects three public personalities, Kenneth Anger, Zeena Schreck, and (by default) her father, Anton LaVey, by way of the infamous family address known as the Black House.

A Halloween greeting sent to Zeena by her godfather, underground filmmaker Kenneth Anger, in the form of a Halloween Witch button-pin that says, “How's your hex life” (a pun on the '60s fad greeting, “How's your sex life?”). 2¼ inches round.

A personal note is included, written on Anger's famous bond stationery bearing the triangular 'Lucifer Rising' logo, 8½ x11 inches.

The original envelope, also included, is addressed to Zeena's birth name (Zeena LaVey), which she ceased using in 1990 after severing ties with her father, making this an extremely rare document of her former identity.

Sent to her place of residence at that time: Zeena was still a minor living in her parents' home, the infamous address of the Black House, 6114 California Street, San Francisco.

Halloween 1980-Kenneth Anger's Polaroid Picture of his “Red Room”

PictureClick photo for more detailed description.
Association Item: Connects three public personalities, Kenneth Anger, Zeena Schreck, and (by default) her father, Anton LaVey, referencing the connection between Anger's “Red Room” and the “Red Room” of the infamous Black House where Kenneth lived part-time in the '70s and again in the '90s.

Sent to his goddaughter, Zeena, in 1980 as a Halloween greeting, the Polaroid picture shows how the avant-garde film director Kenneth Anger's writing desk looked in that year. The desk also doubled as a ritual altar, as the need arose. Anger regarded any creative act—writing, photography, filmmaking, painting, or music composition—as a magical working with an intended outcome, and as such, he rotated items on his desk according to different projects or magical needs.

The bottom portion of the Polaroid has a sticker affixed by Anger, his distinctive handwriting upon which he wrote, 'MY “RED ROOM” - HALLOWEEN 1980.' The quotes around “Red Room” emphasize that it's in contrast to the other “Red Room” in the Black House, as if to say, “Here's MY Red Room.”

Collectible 1971 Book Kenneth Anger signed and gave to Zeena

Kings Cross Sydney - a Personal Look at the Cross By Rennie Ellis and Wesley Stacey
Rare photo essay book depicting life in the swinging '60s and early '70s in Kings Cross.

Association Item: Autographed by Kenneth Anger to his goddaughter Zeena, who at the time was 11-12 years old and still living with her parents; given to her at the height of his popularity after returning to the U.S. from a book-signing tour in Australia, circa 1974-75.

Of note, this book contains an article about occultist artist Rosaleen Norton titled, 'At school I had a crush on Dracula'. Anger wanted to make a film about the "Witch of King's Cross" during that time.
'He did describe his new project, a film about the "Witch of King's Cross", New Zealand artist Rosaleen Norton. The film is to depict the life of the exiled Norton who had to leave Australia as New Zealand was too stifling for her and she too startling for it.' (A longer, detailed description and quote with source on product page.)
